Dosimetry and Medical Radiation Physics (DMRP)

Slides to Radiation Oncology Physics handbook

In 2005 the IAEA published “Radiation Oncology Physics: a handbook for teachers and students” aiming at providing the basis for an education in radiotherapy physics. As a complement to the publication, a set of slides following closely the material in the book has been developed by E.B. Podgorsak (Montreal, McGill University) and G.H. Hartmann (Heidelberg, DKFZ). The slides are expected to be useful to
• IAEA experts, as teaching material during training events
• students engaged in self-directed studies
• teachers and other interested professionals.
The set of slides has been placed on the IAEA web site as working material in order to seek comments, corrections and feedback (via dosimetry@iaea.org). It is hoped that this set of slides will contribute to the harmonization of the education of medical physicists in the field of radiation oncology.
