Mr. Rethy K Chhem, Head of the Division of Human Health

DIR Rethy K Chhem

Mr. Rethy K Chhem joined the IAEA in November 2008. He holds a MD from the University of Paris VI, a PhD in Education and a PhD in History from the University of Montreal. He was Professor of Radiology at the University of Sherbrooke (1988-1993), McGill University (1993-1998), National University of Singapore (1998-2003) and University of Western Ontario (2003-2008). From 2003 to 2008 he was Head of the Radiology Department at the London Health Science Centre and Chairman of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University of Western Ontario (Canada).

He was also Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology and Anthropology at the University of Western Ontario where he still holds an appointment as Adjunct Research Professor in Anthropology. Mr. Chhem serves on the Medical Council of Canada and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
