Third FAO/IAEA International Conference on Area-wide Management of Insect Pests: Integrating the Sterile Insect and Related Nuclear and Other Techniques

This third conference will address technical, managerial and socio-economic components of operational area-wide programmes. The general purpose of the conference is to present to a wide audience new developments, trends and challenges related to insect pest management, both in the fields of agriculture and public health.

It is hoped that the conference will foster a broad exchange of information between sanitary and phytosanitary regulatory authorities, operational AW-IPM programme managers, scientists, human, animal and plant protection specialists, pest management experts, public health practitioners, medical personnel and epidemiologists, as well as the private sector.

The conference will contain 6 sessions i.e.
1. Operational AW programmes,
2. Mosquitoes and human health,
3. Animal Health,
4. Socio-economic impact and regulatory issues,
5. Climate change, global trade and invasive species, and
6. New developments and tools for AW-IPM
