Summary

The Seminar for Africa on "Animal Trypanosomosis:  Vector and Disease Control using Nuclear Techniques" brought together a total of 71 participants representing 24 nations and several international agencies attended. Part I includes the presented papers which main focus was on tsetse Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) as part of an integrated area-wide approach, as well as aspects of tsetse biology relevant to SIT and mass-rearing.

Each session of the seminar was followed by extended discussion of the presented papers.  This was recorded by the session rapporteurs, and is given in Part II.
