E2.40.12 Development of TLD-based Quality Audits for Radiotherapy Dosimetry in Non-reference Conditions
Background:
The proposed CRP is intended to build upon the previous CRP, "Development of a Quality Assurance Programme for Radiation Therapy Dosimetry in Developing Countries", and extend the scope of activities of the national External Audit Groups (EAGs) from TLD audits in reference conditions, i.e. simple TLD checks of radiotherapy beam calibrations, to complex audit measurements in a variety of clinically relevant irradiation geometries, i.e. in non-reference conditions. It is intended that the expertise acquired in the international TLD programmes for the audit of dose in non-reference conditions be adapted, using suitable methodology and structures, by the national EAGs to the specific conditions in each participating country, which will involve scientific investigations leading to new developments at national levels.
