Research Reactors

Welcome to the Mediterranean Research Reactor Users Network (M-RRUN)

The idea of the Mediterranean Research Reactor Utilization Network (M-RRUN) is based on a common understanding that communicating, exchanging, pooling, analyzing and sharing the existing and new knowledge and practical experience on research reactor applications is an essential tool to establish, improve and maintain research reactor utilization activities and to achieve a high level of science in the Mediterranean region. The major objective of the network is to provide an instrument for establishing sustainable and autonomous national and regional research reactor utilization activities through the best use of the shared information and discussions. Regional collaboration, networking and coalitions of RRs and their users may result in the development of synergies and joint offering of complementary services, leading to better utilization of existing facilities and making them more accessible to users in Mediterranean countries without research reactors. As a result of the Technical Meeting organized by the IAEA and held on 19-22 February 2008 at the IAEA Head quarters, Vienna, Austria, representatives of 6 Member States agreed on creation of Mediterranean Research Reactor Utilization Network (M-RRUN).
